Many restaurants and foodservice establishments will provide nutritional information on package labels, point-of-purchase signage, digital menu boards, and other ways in the establishment. While that information is helpful and may influence customer selections, it does give them a lot of information about the result of their decisions. The Department of Nutrition and Food Services (NFS) is proud to provide nutritional information to its retail customers after they make their purchase. Since July 2011, NFS has provided nutritional information about customer purchases on their receipts. See the video below for more information about smart receipts. Our process is very similar. Our program has won several awards including the National Restaurant Association's Operator Innovator of the Year and Health and Wellness Innovation in 2014.
